The short answer

Saturday’s Lotto draw on 10 October 2026 is a Must Be Won. The jackpot is an estimated £12 million, and it has to be paid out on the night.

If somebody matches all six numbers, they win it. If nobody does, the money rolls down to the smaller prizes instead of rolling over to Wednesday.

Why this Must Be Won is different

A Lotto Must Be Won normally comes after the jackpot has rolled over five times in a row. This one hasn’t. The jackpot was about £2.8 million on Wednesday, and the National Lottery has made Saturday a special Must Be Won worth £12 million.

So you don’t need to wait for a long rollover run to get a guaranteed jackpot this week.

How the rolldown works

Lotto now has two rounds on every draw night. Match all six numbers in either round and you win the jackpot, shared with anyone else who does the same.

If there’s no jackpot winner in either round, the money that wasn’t won is paid out like this:

  • Every Match 2 winner gets £5 instead of the usual £1, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
  • Whatever is left is shared between everyone who matched 3 numbers.
  • Must Be Won prizes are rounded down to the nearest £1.

How to play

You play it the same way as any other Lotto draw.

  • Each line costs £2 and is entered into both rounds.
  • Pick 6 numbers from 1 to 59, or choose a Lucky Dip. Our Lotto number generator can pick some for you.
  • Buy before 7:30pm on Saturday 10 October. The draw is shown at 8pm.

Your chances

Your odds of winning the jackpot don’t change in a Must Be Won. It’s still roughly 1 in 22.5 million per line across both rounds, and since 2015 the jackpot has only been won in about 1 draw in 6. See how many people win the Lotto jackpot. What does change is that the £12 million can’t roll over, so if nobody wins it, lots of smaller winners get more.
